Zombies, rabbit holes and many other humorous commercial themes were on display during the 2023 Super Bowl airing on FOX.
For the second year in a row however, we have selected a commercial starring a dog. Last year’s KIA ad starring a robodog was the hands down winner in our estimation. It emotionally scored a touchdown with Super Bowl viewers.
This year The PM Group has chosen Amazon’s, “Saving Sawyer” as our winner. This 60-second spot is the story about a stray dog who found a home during the pandemic and when his family went back to work and school, he became a canine menace to the homeowners. Sawyer’s separation anxiety saw him becoming a four-legged wrecking ball in their house until the family found a solution to their problem….another rescue dog to live with Sawyer!
Watch the commercial with here. It’s ending is Paw-Some!
Our runner-up best television commercial stars Will Ferrell and a cast of zombies promoting General Motors fleet of electric vehicles. The commercial turns the ‘Walking Dead’ into the ‘Driving Dead!’ The commercial had excellent production and comedic value.
Thirty second commercials cost upwards of $7,000,000 each this year on the national Super Bowl telecast. In Texas, commercials went from $40,000 to $300,000+ in the major television markets. Our personal injury attorney client Thomas J Henry was the biggest advertiser in Texas again this year.
“The Super Bowl is the only telecast in the world where the commercials are both beloved and critiqued by millions,” stated The PM Group’s Media Director and CEO, Bob Wills. “Next to the game itself, the commercials are the major story,” Wills added.
